Frost Building Systems is a Hamilton based construction company that specializes in insulated doors, panels, commercial/industrial cladding. We are seeking a resourceful, dependable and self-motivated individual to join our team as a Project Manager

The Project Management role within our company is a dynamic and crucial position. The ideal candidate for this position displays the following traits:

Responsibilities

 

  • Oversee multiple projects simultaneously
  • Set up and manage project contract, budget, and cost
  • Coordinate manpower schedule, material, and equipment
  • Ensure all specifications, details, and applicable building codes are met
  • Ensure field crews meet or exceed the safety plan
  • Manage production reports and provide weekly reports to field supervision
  • Manage and monitor RFIs, change orders, and contract documents
  • Maintain and develop relationships with customers and consultants
  • Develop and monitor quality control documents including shop drawings, submittals, and field reports
  • Review all aspects of a new order including desk order, estimate, pre-plan information etc.
  • Review incoming contracts for accuracy and acceptance
  • Chair and supervise post award meetings for informed transition from sales to operations
  • Establish and continually update job schedule, site requirements, etc. with general contractor and supervisor
  • Co-ordinate the orderly flow of work to meet site schedules
  • Attend and chair weekly project status meetings
  • Co-ordinate issuance of all contracts or purchase orders to subs
  • Sub-out installation, when deemed necessary, in conjunction with area supervisors
  • Co-ordinate the investigation and resolution of disputes, defects, and back charges
  • Monitor and approve subcontract invoices
  • Approve close out of projects and ensure all invoices have been issued
  • Obtain percentage complete on each project for month end billing and reporting
Qualifications
  • 5+ years’ experience within a Project Manager Role in a commercial construction industry
  • Education in a civil engineering / building science program or a related educational field
  • Experience with building cladding and insulated metal panel construction
  • Proficiency in MS office package
